Sponsorship Program FAQ's
We are delighted that you are considering sponsoring a dog with The Sula Society. Your compassion means so much to all our shelter dogs. Below are some answers to frequently asked questions about sponsorship.
Why Sponsor?
We all know we cannot adopt every animal that pull on our heartstrings, but we can still make a profound difference on dogs in need. Our dog sponsorship program allows you to make a donation that will support our recused dogs. Many of our dogs have veterinary expenses that exceed the amount of their adoption fees. Your contribution will assist in offsetting these expenditures and ensure that we can continue to save more dogs going forward.
What is a Sponsorship?
A sponsorship is a recurring donation made in honor of a Sula Society dog.
What does my sponsorship do toward?
Sponsorship donations support the work of The Sula Society. Your donation helps with medical treatment, rehabilitation, training, food, and other costs that are directly associated with the care of your sponsor dog.
Which dog can I sponsor?
Visit our website or Facebook page, all our dogs are available to be sponsored, you can choose any dog!
Will anyone else sponsor my dog?
People can choose to sponsor the same dog as you – some may need more help than others.
Can I sponsor more than one dog?
You can sponsor as much, or as little, as you like, every donation helps!
I want an update about my sponsored dog. Is that possible?
Because our caregivers are very busy providing daily care and enrichment for over 200 dogs at the shelter on any given day, they are not able to provide updates on demand for sponsored dogs.
Can I help my sponsorship dog get adopted?
Yes! Sharing your dog’s story and helping them find a home is one of the best things you can do for a sponsored dog. Sharing their profile and any social media posts is a great idea.
What do sponsors receive?
When you become a Sula Society sponsor you receive a thank you email which includes a photo of your dog. In addition to this, for recurring sponsorships we try to keep you updated to your sponsor dog and share their progress and triumphs. And best of all we will tell you when we have found them their forever home!
If my sponsorship dog is adopted, can I talk to the family who adopted them/can I get updates?
The adopter may want privacy. However, we do sometimes get their permission to share their stories on Facebook. A great way to connect is our Facebook group Friends of Sula.
What do you get out of sponsoring?
Even though you are not adopting, you still receive the joy of knowing you helped provide care for an dog(s) you choose to sponsor. Because of generous people like you, The Sula Society continues to save dogs that may otherwise be euthanized, neglected, or abused.
