Meet little Cleopatra 🐕
We were contacted on the 2nd of March by someone asking for help with a young puppy. We were at the Saturday market working at the Sula booth. Because we were close by, we asked for the puppy to be brought to us.
When the puppy arrived, we soon realized, that we had actually been contacted about her before and her two siblings a couple of days before. They had been left in a black plastic crate. We had offered to help the three puppies but were told that one had a home, and that homes would be found for the other two. We have no idea where the other two are, but this is how we came to have Cleopatra in our care.
We really hope the others are being cared for, as Cleopatra had more worms than I have seen. The others need worming treatment or they will die.
This little one has been a challenge, she has already seen three different emergency vets, as she just stops eating.
I gave her the name Cleopatra, as the only way I could get her to eat at first was by spoon feeding her, a real queen in the making. The last two days the only thing she will eat is chicken, and this morning she will not eat again 🫣 The worry is real, we know how quickly such young puppies can go down hill.
These puppies face hurdle after hurdle, firstly being born with no home, if only mum had been spayed. Secondly dodging illness such as Parvo or Distemper. Yes even worms if not given treatment can kill.
We will do everything we can for Cleopatra, and if it is chicken she wants, it is chicken she will get.
Keeping everything crossed, and hoping Cleopatra will grow up into the Queen she is meant to be.
